2002 NJ Economic Development Conference, East Brunswick Hilton, September 6
(8/13/02)The CBE will be represented at this year's major economic development conference for New Jersey, and encourages its supporters and associates to attend. This is an opportunity to meet and discuss the issues with the Governor, Commerce Secretary Watley, and other state officials; to network with other business and non-profit organizations; and work together to identify opportunities and priorities to revitalize NJ's economy. The cost to participate in this day-long event is $65.
The 2002 New Jersey Conference on Economic Development is intended to stimulate forward-thinking discussion and policy development on key issues. This year's theme, Opportunities & Perspectives on Economic Development focuses on a diverse spectrum of business and government and community leaders who will offer their insights and experiences on successful economic development practices in today's changing economic environment.
Dr. William Watley, NJ Secretary of Commerce, has recently stated: "Our primary goal, and the inspiration for having such a conference, is to create an opportunity to acquaint the economic development community with the initiatives and the assistance that New Jersey Commerce and other state departments offer economic developers. The conference will include non-profit organizations for example, since many are among the state's prime developers. Similarly, we will involve representatives of the corporate community so that we have a unique blend of state representatives, people at the local level and CEOs from the business community."
